#skillsforlife
Volunteering is EASY, FUN, offers OPPORTUNITIES to get externally-recognised qualifications, and gives you the chance to have a REAL IMPACT on the development of young people.
How much time you give is up to you, and you don't need any previous experience. We have a huge variety of roles to suit everyone, and whatever role you choose, we'll make sure you're properly trained and supported. |
Examples of the skills you might have and just some of the ways they might be of use in the Scout Group........
Skill:
First aid qualification Interest in nature Accountancy or just good with figures PR Cooking or baking Crafting Training DIY Administration Interest in keeping animals or stargazing |
How you can help:
Run a first aid session with young people or adults Take young people on a nature ramble Become the treasurer or help collect subs Write a press release for the group Run a cooking session for young people or help cooking at camp Teach young people how to do a new craft Run an adult training session Paint doors or fix shelves in the meeting place, or run a DIY skills session All sorts of admin work needs to be done in the background: letter writing, grant applications, media management... Talking to young people about what interests you |
